Children’s National Medical Center – Beginning in April 2018, Progress Environmental has performed asbestos abatement, PCB caulking, soils, and other hazardous materials remediation throughout three buildings being restored by Suffolk for Children’s National. Buildings 52, 53, and 54 are located at the historic Walter Reed Army Medical Center Campus at the corner of Alaska Avenue and Fern St, NW Washington DC. Abatement was carefully performed to ensure preservation of historic features throughout the buildings, which were formerly used as a US Army Medical Ward, a Post Theater, a Uniformed Services Medical School, and the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology. The buildings total approximately 500,000 SF.
