Progress Environmental is proud to support the long-term preservation of affordable housing through our work at the historic Barcroft Apartments complex. Built between 1939 and 1953, the 59-building community is being revitalized as part of a larger effort to ensure that its 1,335 units remain committed-affordable rentals for nearly a century under the Affordable Housing Investment Fund (AHIF) program.
Our team, led by Supervisor Norma Gonzales, successfully completed a multi-phase abatement project that included selective demolition, as well as the removal of ACM flooring and thermal systems insulation from individual apartments and building crawlspaces.
The Barcroft preservation project will ensure that most units are affordable to households earning 60% of the Area Median Income (AMI), with nine of the 73 renovated units reserved for those earning no more than 30% of AMI—helping to maintain housing stability for generations to come.
