2100 Pennsylvania Avenue

The scope of work included the complete asbestos abatement of two eight-story office buildings comprised of the George Washington University’s Rice Hall and 2100 Pennsylvania Avenue in NW Washington DC. The project included removal of spray-applied fireproofing, floor tile and associated mastic, and window caulk throughout. The most challenging part was getting to the thick, black mastic discovered behind the exterior limestone façade on Floors 1 – 8. Progress personnel utilized a rolling scaffold that extended six feet past the building’s edge in order to remove it in its entirety. Project was finished on time and below budget.
