Sojourner Place at Park

Progress Environmental, LLC completed asbestos abatement at Sojourner Place at Park, 111 Park Avenue in Baltimore, as part of the site’s long-awaited revitalization. The work included removing approximately 2,000 linear feet of pipe insulation, 500 square feet of boiler insulation, and 22,000 square feet of asbestos-containing floor tile and mastic. The abatement was performed by Progress Environmental as an important first step in preparing the existing historic structure for its next phase of construction.

Located in Baltimore’s historic Five and Dime District, the building served for nearly 20 years as HQ and Primary Clinic for Health Care for the Homeless. The property is now being redeveloped as Sojourner Place at Park, which will preserve elements of the historic building while creating 42 affordable apartments, including permanent supportive housing for individuals transitioning out of homelessness.
